Hi, we are Vika and Leo.
We are two curious minds from Belarus and Germany, currently living together in Sweden. When not sitting in front of the computer, we like spending time in nature as far away from screens as possible. We enjoy having similar mindsets and love to discuss and play with ideas.
The topic of gratitude frequently appeared in our conversations. Everyone considers it very important — religion, philosophy, and every self-help book out there. But we never really managed to wrap our heads around it.
One evening in December 2021, we watched this episode of the Huberman Lab podcast about the science of gratitude, and we were surprised. We realized that when talking about gratitude, we all usually only remember the common "write five things you are grateful for" technique. But there is apparently much more to it.
This became our inspiration. We decided to increase awareness about the influence of gratitude on the people around us and ourselves. We created the Grateful Mind app as a simple tool to support this idea in our everyday life. A small reminder that the world is full of kind and caring people. As a support during bad days, showing that you are important to others and they are grateful for your efforts.
As you noticed, we are not scientists and by no means claim to find a solution to happiness. This topic is way too complex, and proper research has barely started. But if only we could inspire one person to be more thoughtful and considerate to others, it all would be worth it.
